Psychedelic Integration Therapy in Colorado
The Experience Happened. Now Let’s Make Sense of It.
Had a psychedelic experience — through a healing center, a personal journey, or a ceremony — and aren't sure how to make sense of what came up?
Integration is the bridge between the experience and your everyday life. Without it, even the most profound experiences can fade, feel confusing, or remain unprocessed. With the right support, they can become the turning point that changes everything.
Melissa Perry offers psychedelic integration therapy as a standalone service — no prior relationship with Soul Yoga Counseling required. She brings a clinically trained, trauma-informed, and spiritually respectful lens to whatever you're carrying from your experience.
"Integration is the bridge between the experience and your everyday life."
Integration Therapy Can Help You:
• Make meaning of difficult or overwhelming experiences
• Process fear, grief, or confusion that arose during the journey
• Translate insights into concrete behavioral and emotional change
• Reconnect with your daily life from a new perspective
• Work through spiritual or existential themes that emerged
Integrate experiences that happened months or years ago and were never fully processed
Integration therapy is for anyone who has had a psychedelic experience — whether through a licensed healing center, a retreat, a ceremony, or personal use — and feels like they need professional support to fully make sense of it.
You don't need to have had a difficult experience to benefit. Many people seek integration support after profoundly positive experiences that they want to understand more deeply and carry forward intentionally.
This service is also for people whose experience happened months or even years ago — unprocessed psychedelic experiences can continue to affect you long after the fact, and it is never too late to integrate them.
How Integration Is Different From Regular Therapy
Psychedelic experiences can bring up material that doesn't fit neatly into the frameworks of traditional talk therapy — spiritual experiences, ego dissolution, encounters with difficult emotions or memories, a profound shift in worldview. Standard therapy isn't always equipped to hold that.
Melissa brings specific training in psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration that allows her to meet the full range of what your experience brought forward — without pathologizing it, spiritually bypassing it, or reducing it to something smaller than it was.
As a fellow mental health professional in Colorado, I refer clients to Melissa Perry at Soul Yoga Counseling with complete confidence. Melissa is one of the most clinically well-rounded therapists I know — holding licensure as both an LPC and LCPC, and standing out as one of Colorado's first authorized Natural Medicine Facilitators under the Natural Medicine Health Act.
What makes Melissa genuinely exceptional is the breadth and depth of what she offers in one practice. She provides EMDR for trauma and PTSD, somatic therapy, ACT, CBT, DBT, and ERP for OCD — and she is one of very few licensed providers in the region offering psilocybin-assisted therapy and psychedelic integration services through Colorado's regulated program.
Google 5 Star Review: May 2026
Melissa Perry, MA, LPC, LCPC, NMIT is a Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute — one of the most rigorous psychedelic therapy training programs in the country. Her NMIT certification specifically prepares clinicians to support clients through psychedelic experiences with clinical depth, trauma-informed care, and spiritual respect. She is one of Colorado's first authorized Natural Medicine Facilitators, licensed across Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri, with over 20 years of clinical experience. Melissa doesn't just support integration — she is legally qualified to guide the full journey from preparation through administration to integration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to have used a legal substance to access integration therapy?
No. Melissa offers integration therapy for experiences that occurred in a variety of contexts. The focus is on supporting your healing and processing — not on the legal status of how the experience occurred.
How soon after an experience should I start integration therapy?
The sooner the better, though integration can be valuable weeks, months, or even years after an experience. Early integration helps prevent difficult material from being buried. Later integration can help you revisit and process experiences that were never fully worked through.
What if my experience was frightening or overwhelming?
Difficult experiences are often the ones that most need skilled integration support — and they are very common. A challenging journey doesn't mean something went wrong. Melissa is trained to work with the full range of psychedelic experiences including those that were frightening, confusing, or emotionally overwhelming. The integration process can transform a difficult experience into a meaningful and healing one.
How many integration sessions will I need?
This varies depending on the depth and complexity of your experience and what it brought up. Some people find meaningful resolution in 3 to 5 sessions. Others choose to work over a longer period, particularly if the experience touched on deep trauma or significant life questions. Melissa will discuss realistic expectations during your free consultation.
Is This the Same as Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy?
No — and this is an important distinction. Psychedelic integration therapy is a standalone service for people who have already had a psychedelic experience and need support processing it. No substances are involved.
Psilocybin-assisted therapy involves supervised administration of psilocybin in a licensed setting as part of a structured treatment process that includes preparation, administration, and integration sessions. That service is also available at Soul Yoga Counseling for eligible Colorado residents and visitors.
If you are considering psilocybin-assisted therapy for the first time rather than integrating a past experience, visit the Natural Medicine Services page to learn more.
Can I do integration therapy if I am also in regular therapy with another provider?
Yes. Integration therapy can complement ongoing work with another therapist. Melissa is happy to collaborate with your existing provider where appropriate, and many people find that integration therapy adds a specific dimension their regular therapist isn't trained to provide.
Is integration therapy available via telehealth?
Yes. Integration therapy is fully available via telehealth for Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri residents. In-person sessions are available in Colorado.
